Safety Training Program
At the heart of our program is a commitment to protecting construction workers and ensuring everyone goes home safely. This training is designed to give workers the practical skills and confidence to manage risks, prevent falls, and use safety equipment effectively. By focusing on real-world construction environments, we help workers build not only knowledge but also trust in their ability to look after themselves and their teammates on site.
Working at Heights
Working at heights remains one of the highest-risk activities in construction. Always use the correct fall protection systems such as harnesses, guardrails, and safety lines. Ensure ladders and scaffolds are properly set up and inspected before use. Keep your work area clear to prevent tools or materials from falling onto others.
Hazardous Chemicals and Materials
Construction often involves hazardous substances including solvents, fuels, adhesives, and asbestos. Always follow the guidance on labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), store materials correctly, and wear the appropriate protective equipment. Any spills or leaks must be reported and managed immediately.
General Workplace Safety
Maintaining a safe site requires good practices. Keep walkways and work areas clear, obey warning signs, and operate tools and equipment according to instructions. Strong housekeeping standards help reduce slips, trips, and falls, while clear communication supports safe teamwork.
Electrical Safety
Electrical work presents significant risks. Inspect all cords, plugs, and equipment before use, and remove damaged items from service. Keep all electrical tools dry and away from water, and never overload circuits. Only licensed electricians are permitted to complete electrical repairs or installations.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
PPE is the worker’s last line of defence. A hard hat protects against falling objects, high-visibility clothing ensures visibility on busy sites, and gloves, goggles, and steel-capped boots protect against common injuries. Always inspect PPE before use and replace damaged items immediately.
Heavy Vehicles
Heavy machinery such as trucks, forklifts, and cranes require strict safety awareness. Remain in designated pedestrian zones, avoid blind spots, and never approach moving vehicles unless acknowledged by the operator. Use clear hand signals or radios when directing traffic or equipment.
Manual Handling
Incorrect manual handling can result in serious and lasting injury. Always lift with your legs, not your back, keep the load close to your body, and request assistance for heavy or awkward objects. Where possible, make use of mechanical aids such as trolleys or hoists.
Emergency Preparedness
Every worker must be aware of the site’s emergency plan. Know the location of emergency exits, assembly points, first aid kits, and fire extinguishers. In an emergency, remain calm, follow evacuation procedures, and report all incidents or near misses promptly.
